Counterweight Rigging system
Counterweight rigging systems are the backbone of
theatrical productions, providing the capacity to
complete scernery changes. Supporting lighting,
audio, video equipment and drapery above the stage
performance space.
Theatrical equipment/scenery is connected to the
batten at stage level, weights to balance the load are
introduced to the carriage and the position of the
scenery adjusted manually by theatre technical staff.
The batten is supported by liftlines, which run over the
loftblocks and converge at the headblock. Which
collects the liftlines and operating line, guiding them
to the counterweight carriage. Operation of the lineset
is controlled with the operating line and rope lock on
the locking rail. The carriage is held in place with a
captive guiding system constructed of JOEL Rigging T-Bar into
a wall frame structure.
